    Very troublesome UEF problem

    Hello folks,

    I am new to the forums but not new to Supcom.Thrilled to be posting on the forum, albeit a bit later than most! I would like to say that I am a reasonable player but do not compete much online. I have recently started playing a friend at 1v1 and in the beginning I owned. I gave him a few pointers on how to get a productive economy set up during the early stages of the game and since then I have been unable to beat him!

    His tactics are extremely frustrating because he doesn't seem to attack, just stays in his base building an impenetrable defensive line backed up with hundreds of AA. I am very confident that if I went UEF I would beat him but I am very keen of using Cybran because I love the stealthiness of the faction. What I am looking for is some sort of staregy that allows me to beat him down and put him in his place because he gloats endlessly about his victories, but doesn't realise what a dull game it turns out to be. Needless to say this is doing my head in because 2 weeks ago he was sh*t and now he feels like he's some sort of master tactician.

    Instead of an epic battle with several fronts, I am left with sending wave after wave against an unbeatable defence. I tried everything. I sent 3 spiderbots a fatboy, 2 soul rippers and a UEF experimental sub against his base and everyhting was destroyed before it even reached his base. A point to note is that the 3 spiderbots and fatboy were under water so you have an idea of how many torpedo bombers he had. He has a tendancy to spam the aircraft. When sending ASF's to counter bombers, it is highly likely that a squadron of 50 ASF's of his will arrive. The sheer number are enough to mean victory for his air force. Its not unusual to see 50 t3 gunships appear to take out my ME's. I have tried encircling his base with factories early on but the sheer mass of units he builds seem to overwhelm my forward bases as well as my habit of developing a solid, main base of my own. Rather than expanding to take up strategic points on the map, he stays in his starting area, building a Mass fabricator based economy with accompanying power gens.

    The games generally end with him building a Mavor, taking out my strategic defence and then nuking me to oblivion finishing off with the Mavor what the nukes don't kill. Although I am always able to hide my commander and build up a stealth base, its only a matter of time before it gets found and then the Mavor starts barking again. In frustration I generally self destruct my commander because I can't be bothered waiting for him to find and kill it.

    Someone please tell me a strategy I can use against this guy because the gloating is unbearable! I am 100% certain that there is a strategy that I can use to walk all over him. It is the sheer number of units that seals his victory but I am sure there is a way that I can spare myself the war of attrition. And please do not just suggest I rush him early on because I'm looking for something more than a 20 minute game.

    well reading thatyou sould be able to kick his ass every game because u no exscaticily what hes goin to do.

    i hate the aoen but they are the best for cracking turttals and that is what yr m8 is rush to tech 2 biuld some gunships like 2 and then send then to hurshass his exspantion massexstractors thsi will cripple him and slow him down to a grinding speed so he want to be able to get the colloasal resouses needed for tech to

    so the stratigy is provenent him from getting the resouses needed and so take the MEXs by his base and renforce teh gun ships with more units u can iver use artilary on his base or build factorys by the MEXs so he cant get them bk and start kicking out lots off units

    also be quick because he wins thought *** loads of resouses and that takes a long time so play fast paced and not slow so he cant biuld up to be a monster

    also all else fails use the aeon tech 3 arti because that has the best range for arti in the game except the mav and also the damge is very gd on the tech 3 arti hope that helps :P
